College and community came together on Saturday, December 9, for Tea Around the Tree, an annual celebration of Christmas in the Ozinga Chapel Grand Lobby. More than 150 community members, friends of the College, and Trinity staffers enjoyed good fellowship around the festive 15-foot poinsettia tree. Children delighted in stories, face-painting, and cookie decorating.

“I had a great time interacting with the kids,” said Jamie Fuller ’06 from Henry, Illinois, one of seven student helpers at Tea Around the Tree. “After painting their faces, it was fun to see them run to their parents with a big smile.”

Trinity’s conference and events coordinator said everyone benefited from Tea Around the Tree. “It was a great opportunity to welcome the community and families to campus,” said Kara Bruxvoort. “We are pleased to provide a fun time of fellowship for children, parents, and grandparents alike.”
