Many Gather for Tea Around the Tree

Children and their families joined Trinity students on Saturday, December 8, for Tea Around the Tree, an annual Christmas celebration in the Ozinga Chapel Grand Lobby. More than 150 friends of the College, community members, and Trinity staffers enjoyed fellowship around the festive 15-foot poinsettia tree.

Children delighted in story telling, face-painting, and cookie decorating with Trinity students who participated. Students included:

Laura Bille ’08, Waupun, Wisconsin
Amy Dockendorf ’10, Shingle Springs, California
Stacey Navis ’08, Waupun, Wisconsin
Rosalia Portillo ’09, Aurora, Illinois
Michelle Schurman ’09, DeMotte, Indiana
Emily Ward ’09, Palos Heights, Illinois
Leah Zumdahl ’09, Sheboygan, Wisconsin

Leah Zumdahl, an elementary education major, volunteered as a storyteller at the festivities. “The kids had fun and really became involved in the stories. This event was a nice way for students to help friends and neighbors of the College celebrate the holiday.”

Conference and events coordinator Kara Bruxvoort ’03 agreed. “Tea Around the Tree provides a wonderful opportunity for students, families, and Trinity neighbors to start off the season with traditional holiday activities.”
