Seniors Jeremiah Johnson (Pleasant Valley, Missouri) and Claudette Anderson (South Holland, Illinois) have been accepted into the Los Angeles Film Studies Program for the spring semester while junior Melanie Jackson (Lombard, Illinois) will spend that term participating in the Semester In Australia program.

The L.A. Film Studies Program, which is sponsored by the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities, seeks to prepare students with a Christ-centered vision and place them into the mainstream Hollywood film industry to influence film content, production processes, and interpersonal relationships.

"One of the biggest reasons I came to Trinity was to attend this program," said Johnson, a communication arts and English major. "My acceptance is a big step toward my career as a screenwriter. This will give me the opportunity to perfect my four current projects and start new ones."

Semester In Australia is designed for students interested in exploring the culture, natural science, history, social dimensions, and business practices of Australia. Jackson will enroll in courses at the Wesley Institute for the Performing Arts and Ministry, a Christian college of arts and theology located in Sydney.

"This is an opportunity of a lifetime that will help me become more dependent on God," Jackson, a business communications major, said. "I hope to learn about different cultures and meet people from many different areas. It will give me a glance at God's creation in an entirely new way."
