Trinity showed some love to Palos Heights, and the city of Palos Heights showed some love right back.

The residence life staff orchestrated "LovePalos" in April, and the city will recognize those services by honoring them as award recipients of the Keep Palos Heights Beautiful program.

In April, residence directors Bryan Carrier, Suzanne VanderZee, Shannon Pothoven, and Nadia Swearingen-Friesen coordinated the volunteer efforts of more than 150 people who spruced up streets and parks throughout Palos Heights. "It was a great day to show that we care about our community, and it's nice to see the city confirm their appreciation for our service," said Carrier.

Mayor Bob Straz will present the award to the residence directors during the city's awards ceremony on Tuesday, November 19. The College was also recognized by the business and economic development committee for its work in renovating Trinity's pump house and installing new landscaping around it. The pump house is an original campus landmark from the days of the Navajo Hills Golf Course, which preceded the College on this site.
