Social Work Department Sponsors "Year of Service" Event

The social work department will host their first annual Year of Service event on Sunday, November 15, at 7 p.m. in the Ozinga Chapel. This is an opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to learn about organizations that offer full-time volunteer opportunities and internships after graduation.

“This event is not just for social work majors but for all students. As Christians, we are all called to serve in various ways,” said Nikki Bruna, project coordinator for the social work department. “It is never too early to start planning for your future after graduation, and our goal is to let students know that there are more opportunities out there than just a job or graduate school.”

Following a 7 p.m. welcome and short address by President Steven Timmermans, students will have the opportunity to peruse the booths of organizations such as the Peace Corps, Habitat for Humanity, World Vision, and others. Representatives from each organization will be available to talk with attendees about full-time service opportunities and internships.

Contact Nikki Bruna at or 708.239.4852 for more information. All Trinity students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend. No RSVP or entrance fee is required.
