Social Work "Immigration and the Church"

On Wednesday, November 12, from 7:30-9 p.m., Trinity’s social work department will hosts a discussion entitled “Immigration and the Church.”  Guest speakers Richard Munoz, director of Immigration Service and Aid Center (ISAAC) and Sergio Ramos, director of National Community Ministries, from Buckner International, will lead the discussion.

ISAAC is the first nationwide, church-based immigration ministry whose goal is to help legal and illegal immigrants gain citizenship. Their instruction and training is targeted to not only immigrants, but also to churches as they minister to this group of people.

Buckner International, founded in 1879, is a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability whose mission of caring for widows and orphans is based on the New Testament mandate of Jesus Christ.

The event will take place in the Van Namen Recital Hall of the Ozinga Chapel.  If you are interested in coming, please RSVP to Nikki Bruna at 708.239.4852 or nikki.bruna@trnty.edu. Licensed social workers will earn 1.5 free CEUs.
