Trinity social work majors gained better insight into their calling thanks to a national conference October 26-29 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Eight students joined other social work scholars, professors, and professionals at the annual convention of the North American Association of Christians in Social Work. Trinity students attended workshops and heard from several keynote speakers.

"It was exciting to see so much passion in action," said Kristin Bolan '08 of Brookfield, Wisconsin. "I learned a lot about cultural competency and know more about people from different ethnic backgrounds."

Jenna Hania '07 of Branchton, Ontario agreed that the long trip was worth it.

"It was wonderful to be encouraged by fellow Christian social workers in the field," she said.

Trinity Associate Professor of Social Work Dr. Mackenzi Huyser and Project Coordinator Laura Zumdahl accompanied the students on the trip.
