New Bookstore Café Named

Although renovations are ongoing, one thing is set in stone--the official name of Trinity's new bookstore and café.

In September, the Board of Trustees Executive Committee had the honor of accepting a significant gift from Dr. Ken and Jan Bootsma toward the purchase and renovation of the former Dunlap's restaurant. Grateful for the gift and for Dr. Bootsma's presidency from 1984-1996, the committee voted to honor them by naming the facility the Bootsma Bookstore Café at Navajo Creek.

"Dr. and Mrs. Bootsma love Trinity Christian College deeply and want to see it flourish," said Larryl Humme, vice president for development. "We are grateful for their generosity."

The College hopes this will be a warm and inviting place for students, faculty, and staff, as well as neighbors from the surrounding community.

At this time, the College anticipates that The Bootsma Bookstore Café will open this winter. Fund raising continues for this facility, with approximately $300,000 yet to be raised to cover the extensive renovation currently in progress.
