Elim Students Enjoy Fall Fest at Trinity

On Friday, October 9, over 100 Elim Middle School students, teachers, and teacher assistants gathered in the Grand Lobby for the annual Fall Fest hosted by Trinity’s Student Council for Exceptional Children.

Though it was a dreary, rainy day outside, inside of the Grand Lobby spirits were cheerful as  twenty plus Trinity students helped Elim students decorate Trick or Treat bags with the saying,  “Shine With the Light of Jesus:  Let me shine with the light of Jesus.   Let my eyes see the beauty all around.  Never let me turn my nose up to others and let my mouth share the good news I have found.”

Students also decorated foam pumpkins before the real fun began, trick or treating around Ozinga Chapel.  Representatives from 10 different offices or organizations on campus including the Nursing Department, the Education Department, the Library, Student Development, and many more stood in various locations around the chapel while the Elim students went from person to person trick or treating.

The group then came back to the lobby and ended their festivities with cookie decorating, apple and caramel snacks, and entertainment by our own Regina Hrad’s ’10 father, a former Chicago Public School principal, and now a “pirate for a day.”  Many students stayed to eat their lunch at Trinity and were reluctant to end the fun as they laughed, sang, and enjoyed their special day at Trinity.
