WorldView Welcomes Paul Vallas, Former CEO of Chicago Public Schools
Trinity Christian College’s WorldView series welcomes Paul Vallas to campus on Monday, October 12, at 7 p.m. in the Ozinga Chapel.
Vallas, the former CEO of Chicago Public Schools, is currently serving as the Superintendent of the Recovery School District in New Orleans. He is nationally known for his implementation of education reforms in the Philadelphia and Chicago school systems, and he is currently striving to duplicate those reforms throughout the Recovery School District in New Orleans.
Prior to his position in New Orleans, Vallas also served as the Executive Director of the Economic and Fiscal Commission of the Illinois General Assembly, the Budget Director for the City of Chicago, and the first CEO of the Chicago Public Schools. After he ran in the Democratic primary for Governor of Illinois against Rod Blagojevich in 2002, Vallas served as the head of the Philadelphia school district.
