How does a man without arms and legs serve as the hands and feet of the Lord?

Nick Vujicic, president and CEO of Life Without Limbs, shares his testimony about being born without arms and legs, the intense challenges of growing up, his struggle to understand why, and his epiphany at the age of 15 after reading John 9.

"Jesus said that the reason the man was born blind was 'so that the works of God may be revealed through Him,'" Vujicic writes on his Web site,

Traveling this week as part of the Disability Ministry Summit with Joni Eareckson Tada, Vujicic first spoke to students at Friday chapel on September 28 and has spoken to 1.7 million people worldwide. He talked about God's strength being the motivation in his own life and encouraged students to look at what is good in their lives.

"Life is a journey full of ups and downs, and sometimes you fall down," he said, vividly illustrating this by falling forward. Prostrate he looked up and asked, "How can you get back up?"

Vujicic righted himself and answered, "God will give you strength. If he brought you to it, he'll get you through it, if you truly believe his grace is sufficient."

The 24-year-old speaker, engaging and funny as he explained that God puts people in a position of need so they will seek him, assured his rapt audience that there is a purpose for each person's life. His amazing story testified to the fact that all a person needs in order to be used by God is a willing heart.
