Troll alumni headed back to Trinity's campus Saturday, September 24, to renew old friendships, munch on great grilled food, and watch and compete in alumni sports games during the annual Alumni Fall Weekend. In a show of jovial Troll spirit, alumni got involved in various activities, and many showed support by watching the current women's volleyball team and men's soccer team in action.

Sponsored by the office of alumni relations, alums were treated to Troll-gating and games in alumni baseball, volleyball, and soccer. For the baseball match up, alumni played two games against the current men's team, splitting the victories. Tim Hurley '00, brought his miniature blue and white bus, which has become a familiar site at Trinity outings over the past year, serving as the site of Troll-gating, Trinity's version of tailgating. Spectators of the men's soccer game and alums and family members who attended the alumni games enjoyed grilled brats and hotdogs.

"We are here for our alums, ready and willing to serve them in whatever way we can," Kelly Netjes said. "Whether that would be helping to organize an alumni baseball game or to grill and serve bratwursts during a soccer game, we want to give them an 'excuse' to get back on campus."

The alumni board met on campus on Friday, September 23 to discuss plans for the coming year. The board's goals include increasing awareness of the alumni scholarship and making a connection with current Trinity students in order to educate them about what it means to be a Trinity graduate. They will meet again on campus on Friday, February 3, 2006 for Homecoming weekend.
