New California Location for Adult Studies
In L.A. County only 28% of the population has earned a bachelor's degree or higher. To help meet the educational need and to foster an existing relationship between Trinity and Community Christian College in California, the Adult Studies department will soon offer its degree-completion program in the Los Angeles area.
Applications are now being accepted for the Business Communication program, and classes will be offered on Community Christian College's Sun Valley campus.
In preparation for the first cohort, Nick Read Brown, administrative coordinator in California, visited the Trinity campus in the fall to meet with Lori Scrementi, director of Adult Studies; Dr. Sherry Barnes, associate professor of communication arts and academic director of the Business Communication program; and Erin Dalian, marketing manager of Adult Studies, as well as faculty and staff from other departments.
Offering the Business Communication program in Sun Valley is one way to utilize Trinity's resources and the experience we have meeting the needs of the adult learner," said Barnes. "The 60-hour program is designed to help graduates reach their personal and career goals in a variety of settings.”
Adult Studies has offered programs off-site at local campuses in the Chicagoland area with California being the most recent collaboration. Partnering with a two-year college such as Community Christian College is mutually beneficial and establishes a Trinity presence in the school and community.
