The summer evening sky provided a beautiful backdrop for the Alumni Praise & Worship Saturday, September 6, showing a portion of God's majesty that brought nearly 150 people together to express their love and gratitude to Him.

"We couldn't have asked for a better evening; it was perfect for outdoor worship," said Kelly Triezenberg '02, Trinity's assistant director of alumni relations. "We had a good mix of alumni, students, faculty, staff, and community residents, and everyone really enjoyed themselves."

The crowd was invited to bring food and beverages to enjoy in the Commons. As the orange sun slipped below the horizon and yielded to a bright moon, the worshipers sang "Trading My Sorrows," "Power Of Your Love," "My Redeemer Lives," and "Seize The Day." Curt DeGraff '02, Keith Schemper '02, Carl Swanson '01, Heather (Weidenaar) Follett '99, Scott Daimid '96, Jeremy Heyboer '98, and Jeff Otto '97 led the songs, and Rev. Doug Pruim '97, vice president of the alumni board, spoke about God's faithfulness to the College.

"I hope that we can make this an annual event," Triezenberg said. "Some of the worship leaders said how good it was to see and share music with old friends again. Our main goal is to praise God for all that He's done for the College through its alumni, and I think the people who attended this first event will have long-lasting memories."
