A Celebration of Cultures at Trinity
The 5th annual Celebration of Cultures held Wednesday, September 3, provided an opportunity for students to become acquainted with the diverse Trinity community.
Students and faculty had the chance to have fun and interact with each other while answering multi-cultural trivia questions and playing a meet and greet game. Guests also enjoyed a buffet of ethnic cuisine prepared by Creative Dining.
Leaders of the campus organizations Ethos, Asian American Life, and the Organization of African American Unity (OAAU) presented information about these groups and invited students to be involved.
Brazilian and Cuban beats punctuated the evening conversation during a drum demonstration performed by percussion instructor Janet Cramer and Christian Lopez ’10 Sun Valley, California.
Key coordinator for the event was Kristin Thomas ’11 of Chicago, Illinois, assistant in the Office of Ethnic Diversity, sponsor of the event.
“This event was created to celebrate and welcome different cultures to the Trinity community,” said Thomas. “I was greatly pleased with the outcome of the event—the great food and the fun learning experience provided by the Trinity percussionists.”
