NEWCOMERS MAKE THEMSELVES
campus was abuzz with more than 300 first-time Trinity students and their
families hauling clothes, computers, and stereos into their residence halls
August 21. According to Pete Hamstra, vice president for admissions and
advancement, every new resident for this academic year showed up, making
this the biggest move-in day in Trinity's history.
The first wave of newcomers
arrived on campus early that morning, and by mid-afternoon, the parking
lots near Tibstra, South, and West halls were full of mini-vans and SUVs.
Members of Trinity's orientation committee were on hand to help unload
and unpack throughout the day. The College hosted a picnic in the late
afternoon to help everyone unwind and enjoy a summer evening with new roommates
