Completing what he calls a "strong recruiting class," coach Josh Lenarz '98 added a trio of West Coast players to the women's soccer team whom he believes will help the Trolls become even more formidable on the field.

Meigan Soo, Amanda Danner, and Colleen Derrick will bring their talent from Fresno, California, to Trinity next fall after signing national letters of intent to play for the Trolls. They have played the last two years together at Fresno City College.

"They will be terrific additions to our team because of the experience and maturity," said Lenarz, who will enter his third season at the helm. "They are ecstatic about moving to the Chicago area to finish their education and join a team that is becoming a top-level Christian college program."

The Fresno City Rams were 12-8 in 2003 after registering a 16-3-4 mark the previous year. Soo, a forward from Fresno, led the team in scoring during her two seasons. Danner, a native of Sanger, California, was named 2003 Defensive Player of the Year in the Central Valley Conference. Derrick, also a defender, relies on her speed and quickness to disrupt opposing attack schemes.

"The skills that Meigan, Amanda, and Colleen bring to the table are ingredients that I think will blend well with the lineup we already have," said Lenarz, who returns 10 players from his squad that won 11 games last season. "I expect those three to play important roles in our quest to earn a berth in the NCCAA finals in Kissimmee, Florida. I'm very pleased to have them aboard."
