Trinity's nursing department received more validation for the quality of its curriculum and instruction when the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education granted a 10-year accreditation of the baccalaureate degree program. The CCNE Board of Commissioners determined that the College met all four standards for accreditation with no compliance concerns.

"This accreditation affirms that we have a high-caliber program that meets national standards of excellence," said department chair Cynthia Sander.

Another sign of the department's prowess is the success rate of graduates who apply for their licenses. Each member of the class of 2001 passed the national nursing licensure exam on the first attempt, and the class of 2002 repeated that accomplishment.

"A 100 percent first-time pass rate is a major achievement; to attain this for two successive years is unusual," Sander said. "It speaks to the quality of our students, our faculty, and our curriculum."
