SEVEN STUDENTS AWARDED
The Associated Colleges of
Illinois announced its first round of scholarship winners for the 2003-04
academic year, with seven Trinity students making the list. They will receive
a combined total of $13,000 in financial aid.
"We had another successful
year with scholarships from the ACI," said Scott Plaisier, assistant director
of financial aid. "More Trinity students applied this year than ever before,
and due to the quality applications that our students submit, the College
has seen an increase in the number of recipients."
The ACI strives to make more
education opportunities available for first-generation, minority, and low-income
college students throughout Illinois. The generous donations of individuals,
families, corporations, and charitable organizations help deserving students
at the 24 ACI institutions complete their degrees.
Trinity's latest recipients,
all of whom are sophomores, and their award sponsors are: Alissa Barr (Grover
Hermann Foundation), Sunnyside, Washington; Andrea Christensen (A. Montgomery
Ward), Sully, Iowa; Kendra Cumberland (Ward), Gasport, New York; Glory
Miranda (Michele and Peter Willmott), Arlington Heights, Illinois; Jeremy
Oosterhouse (Grover Hermann Foundation), Holland, Michigan; Daniel Roberts
(Michele and Peter Willmott), Liberia; and Angela Russell (Michele and
Peter Willmott), Hazel Crest, Illinois.
