Because his Trolls routinely faced taller opponents who controlled the action in the paint last season, Tim Walker's priority for next season was to bring in players with more size. To that end, the men's basketball coach signed Greg Talen, a 6-foot-5 forward from Chino, California, whom he believes will make a significant difference.

"He's a player who will help fill some weak spots for us," said Walker, looking ahead to his second season as head coach at Trinity. "His size will give us more productivity around the basket, both offensively and defensively. He understands how to play the game, and he has the tools that will fit well in our system."

Talen, who also played quarterback for Ontario Christian High School, admits that Trinity was not originally on his radar screen. Once he took a close look at the College, he liked what he saw.

"I didn't know much about Trinity before this year, but as I learned more, I became more impressed," said Talen, who plans to pursue a degree in business. "My visit to the campus was good. I liked its size, and getting away from home means a chance to explore new things and make new friends.

"While Coach Walker recruited me, he shared his goals and how I fit it, and I'm confident about the direction of the team. He spoke of accomplishing great things on the court in the next couple of years, and I believe I can make a strong contribution."
