SENIORS GRADUATE TO ALUMNI STATUS

Every year the graduating class is welcomed into the alumni association. To celebrate the transition from student to alum, nearly 80 graduates enjoyed a senior pizza party on May 16.

“Each year we graduate a group of wonderful students,” said Kelly Netjes ’02, director of alumni relations. “This party is a great opportunity to let them know that this caring community will continue to support them even after they leave our campus.”

When asked what will keep them connected to Trinity, some replied their close proximity to the campus, some said the alumni events and others mentioned their family connections.

Mandy Wierema of Willow Springs, Illinois, said, “It will be easy, my sister will be going here.”

“So will mine,” said Martina Verstraate of Oostburg, Wisconsin, seated beside her.

Netjes encouraged the graduates to stay connected and to use the alumni office as a resource. She also shared some ‘top ten’ advantages of being a Trinity graduate, including, “When someone calls you a Troll, you know it’s a compliment!”
