More than a thousand people, including 50 students from Trinity's social justice chapter, gave up the comforts of home to point out a travesty overseas. The group took part in the Global Night Commute, Saturday, April 29, in downtown Chicago, Illinois.

The group endured constant rain and cold temperatures; demanding the U.S. government put an end to child abduction and the need for night commuting in a dangerous part of the world: northern Uganda.

"This event is not the end," said Allison Backous '07, "but only the beginning of the fight for the children in Uganda. The fact that we sat there in the rain and cold just shows the maturity level of Trinity students." Backous chairs the social justice chapter at Trinity.
