Trinity Professors Announce Retirement
Students, friends, family, and faculty will have the opportunity to celebrate the outstanding contributions of three Trinity professors retiring this year: Dr. Virginia La Grand, associate professor of English (1990-2008); John Kooyenga ’66, associate professor of business (1981-2008); and Dr. Burt Rozema, dean of academic services and professor of classics (1982-2008).

After 27 years of teaching at Trinity, John Kooyenga, associate professor of business, is retiring but will return half-time next year in his role as director of the Adult Studies business program. Read more.
For the past 18 years, Dr. Virginia La Grand, associate professor of English, has taught English courses at Trinity, including freshman composition, children’s literature, linguistics, and British & American literature. Read more.
Dr. Burt Rozema, professor of classics and dean of academic services, has invested 26 years at Trinity. During most of that time, he taught all of the Greek courses at the College. Rozema will return half-time next year as director of off-campus programs. Read more.
Scholarship and special purpose funds have been established in the name of each of the retirees. Contributions to these funds may be made out to Trinity Christian College with the name of the retiree or retirees in the memo line and directed to the development office.
