News Release

With new national and world events to occupy us, it is easy to forget that hurricane victims still need our help. Trinity Christian College has not forgotten those victims. Fifty students are going to Texas over spring break to help improve the lives of those hit by Hurricane Rita.

“We’re going to be rebuilding homes,” said Jackie Medenblik, service committee advisor. “We’ll work alongside professionals, helping them get the job done.”

Bethany VandeHey ’08 of Little Chute, Wisconsin, says the service trip is good not only for victims of Rita, but for Trinity as well.

“This will be a big trip and an awesome way to represent who we are as a college and as Christians,” she said.

Student volunteers will be keeping a journal of their experiences in Texas to help them reflect on the service mission and share their stories.

A similar hurricane relief effort by Trinity students last year earned presidential recognition for community service. Click here for the story.
