News Release

Trinity Christian College professor Dr. Annalee Ward of Palos Heights is an educator in demand. Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, asked the communication arts professor to be the Wharton Lecturer for the School of Communication in February. The Ann Wharton Lecture Series was established to bring outstanding Christian academicians to Liberty University.

“As people who study and practice communication, we reflected on how context, medium, symbols, and character shaped by a Christian worldview, contribute to good communication, communication that brings hope,” Ward said.

She delivered four different lectures and concluded with the challenge, “Be symbol users who communicate in ways that open up dialogue and understanding. Be stewards of the gift of communication, flames of light in a dark world, flames of symbolic hope.”

Ward also spoke at a Palos-Orland area meeting of the League of Women Voters in the fall. She discussed her vision of the ways the community would benefit from the College’s planned Art and Communication Center.
