Organ Artist Series Welcomes Minkyoo Shin

The Trinity Christian College Music Department invites you to the Spring 2009 installment of the Organ Artist Series, featuring Trinity organ instructor Minkyoo Shin, on Sunday, March 29, at 3 p.m. The recital will feature works by Bruhns, Bach, Mendelssohn, Albright, and Guillmant on the Ozinga Chapel’s spectacular 46-rank Lauck organ. 

Professor Shin studied at the North German Academy in Bremen, Germany, in the summer of 1994 and earned a bachelor’s degree from the Peabody Conservatory of Music (1995) and a master’s degree from the Yale School of Music (1997). She is currently a doctoral candidate in organ literature and music theory at Indiana University. 

Shin teaches organ and piano at Trinity and resides in Chicago, where she serves as worship leader at Lutheran Church of the Ascension in Northfield, Illinois.
               
Following the recital, visitors are welcome to join Shin on stage for a demonstration of the Lauck organ. The recital is free and open to the public.
