March Shoe Drive to Benefit Orphans

Trinity Christian College students are sponsoring a drive to collect new shoes, socks, and shoe laces for children around the world.

Students from the College’s Social Justice Chapter and the Social Work Student Organization have been working through Shoes for Orphan Souls, a humanitarian aid project of Buckner International in Texas. Since 1999, Buckner has sent more than 1.5 million pairs of new shoes to at-risk children in the U.S. and around the world.

“This is a really good way to help out, because it addresses a specific need,” said Rebecca VanderWilt ’09 of Fort Collins, Colorado. She suggests that groups of people, like Trinity roommates, “team up” to donate.
