The Greatest Show on Earth in the Seerveld Gallery
Artist Heidi Van Wieren, a former faculty member of the art department, will present “The Greatest Show on Earth” in the Seerveld Gallery in the Art and Communication Center from March 4 through April 2, 2009. The exhibit features Van Wieren’s drawings and paintings from the Badlands.
Van Wieren will close her exhibit with a lecture on Thursday, April 2, at 6 p.m. in the ARCC lobby. A reception will follow at 7 p.m. in the Seerveld Gallery.
Van Wieren has exhibited both nationally and abroad in such galleries as the Roy Boyd Gallery in Chicago, the White Columns in New York, the Margaret Thatcher Projects in New York, and the ROCKET Gallery in London.
A native of Holland, Michigan, she received her B.F.A. in studio art from Hope College in Holland and her M.F.A. in sculpture and printmaking from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
This exhibit is closed during spring break (March 16-22). When class resumes on March 23, the gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
