Plenty of people, puppets, and pizza marked Homecoming 2007 at Trinity Christian College. Alumni awards on February 2 kicked off the annual event. The next morning, dozens of alumni took part in a homecoming favorite--the 3-on-3 basketball tournament. The team of John Sikkenga ’06, Luke Post ’04, and Travis VanHuisen ’04, all from Alsip, Illinois, and Kevin Tameling ’04 of Willowbrook, Illinois, won the recreation division. The team of Dean Nauta ’06 of Grand Haven, Michigan, Bear Timmer ’05 of Traverse City, Michigan, Lawrence Weller ’06 of Kalamazoo, Michigan, and, Scott Pothoven ’97 of Crestwood, Illinois, won the advanced division.

Both Trinity basketball teams impressed the Homecoming crowd. The women defeated Purdue University-Calumet, 72-56. The men defeated Purdue University-North Central, the top conference team, 65-54.
