LENARZ SCORES HAT TRICK IN WEST MICHIGAN

Women's soccer coach Josh Lenarz '98 scored a hat trick during his recent recruiting trip to western Michigan.

Mindi Harkema, Nicole Billin and Karley Glass, seniors at Unity Christian High School in Hudsonville, Michigan, signed letters of intent to play for the Trolls, beginning in the fall. Lenarz is elated to secure the trio.

"These girls have tremendous talent on the field and are great people off the field," Lenarz said. "They will add a unique degree of teamwork and chemistry to our team since they've known and played with each other throughout high school. Mindi, Nicole, and Karley will give our roster more depth and push us closer to developing a championship-contending team at Trinity."

Harkema has played defense and midfield as a three-year varsity starter for the Crusaders. She has been named all-conference and all-district each season. She earned first-team all-state honors in 2004 after rebounding from a torn anterior cruciate ligament injury to tally 10 goals with eight assists.

Billin, an all-conference performer who plays forward and midfield, notched all-conference accolades after scoring 11 goals with six assists last year. Glass shut out 12 opponents in goal for the Crusaders in 2004. She averaged more than 4.5 saves per game and surrendered less than one goal per contest.

"Each of them has her strengths and will be a key contributor to our success in the years ahead," Lenarz said. "Like our other players, they have strong Christian character and a will to maximize their skills. It'll be fun to coach them and watch them grow."
