The work of a Trinity Christian College faculty member is reaching a wider audience. The essay Comfort by English professor Dr. Michael Vander Weele ’73 originally appeared in the August/September issues of Perspectives: A Journal of Reformed Thought. A short time later, another version of it appeared in Speaking of Pastors: Parishioners Tell Their Stories, edited by James Schaap. One of the leading Lutheran writers of our time, Martin Marty, recently introduced and excerpted the essay in the December issue of Context magazine.
“I’m pleased that the essay found a Reformed audience, but also was used by Marty to encourage his more general audience of readers interested in religious issues,” Vander Weele said.
After he graduated from Trinity, Vander Weele returned to the College in 1986 to teach English. Click here for more information about Professor Vander Weele.
