SHEBOYGAN SOCCER PLAYER AWARDED SCHOLARSHIP
Trinity Christian College named Jon Laack, a senior at Sheboygan County Christian High School, the latest recipient of the Stephen and Charlotte Mitchell Memorial Scholarship. Laack will play soccer for the Trolls in the fall.

The Mitchell Memorial Scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman who demonstrates potential for outstanding athletic leadership in college activities. In his final high school season, Laack tallied 17 goals and 13 assists to help the Eagles claim their second consecutive state championship. He also has played for the F.C. Magic Rebels club team.

"I'm excited about the new dimensions that Jon's versatility will add to our team," Coach Jonathon Lenarz '96 said about the midfielder, who collected all-state honors from the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association. "He can play in the forward line, is equally adept with both feet, and is a dangerous one-on-one attacker. His experience and success playing for a high school state champion as well as an elite club team in Wisconsin will be tremendous assets to our soccer program."

Laack plans to major in pre-physical therapy, and the College's curriculum in that field was a key factor in his decision to attend Trinity. His brother, Brian, played soccer four years for the Trolls before graduating in 2003. His parents are Steve and Tammy Laack of Sheboygan, Wis.
