The Associated Colleges of Illinois continued its generosity toward Trinity Christian College by bestowing scholarships to seven students. Since the academic year started, eight Trinity students have been awarded financial assistance from the ACI.

The latest recipients of ACI grants are: sophomores Shanna Gort (A. Montgomery Ward Scholarship), Wyoming, Michigan; Derek Bommelje (UPS Scholarship), Wheaton, Illinois; and Kayla Faber (Toni S. Smith Award), Rock Valley, Iowa; juniors Nathan Rael (McGraw Foundation Emergency Award), Denver; Julie Maker (Grover Hermann Foundation), Beaver, Pennsylvania; and Anna VanderPol (Aileen S. Andrew Foundation), Escondido, California; and senior Paul Miantona (Motorola Minority Scholarship), Liberia.

"It's great that our students have these funds available to help them continue their education," said Luke Egolf, director of financial aid. "The number of Trinity students who have received recognition from the ACI this year illustrates how highly the College is regarded in the state of Illinois."

The ACI seeks to enhance educational opportunities for first-generation, minority, and low-income students throughout the state. In December, senior Trisha Lunsford, a resident of Orland Hills, Illinois, was awarded the Carole B. Whitcomb Endowed Scholarship through ACI.
