APOLLO CHORUS OF CHICAGO TO PERFORM FALL CONCERT AT TRINITY
Known for its annual performances of Handel's Messiah in downtown Chicago every holiday, the Apollo Chorus will perform its annual fall concert at the College on November 4 at 3 p.m. in the Ozinga Chapel. "THE WINTER'S TALE" TO TAKE THE STAGE
Enjoy this year's Fall Play, "The Winter's Tale," by William Shakespeare, as it is performed November 8-10 and November 14-17 at 7:30 p.m. in the Fireside Room of the campus Administration building. "The Winter's Tale" is a romance play "which plunges most deeply into tragedy before veering toward joy and redemption." General admission tickets are $7; students & senior citizens are $5. NEW BOOKSTORE CAFE NAMED
Although renovations are ongoing, one thing is set in stone--the official name of Trinity's new bookstore and café. In September, the Board of Trustees Executive Committee had the honor of accepting a significant gift from Dr. Ken and Jan Bootsma toward the purchase and renovation of the former Dunlap's restaurant. Grateful for the gift and for Dr. Bootsma's presidency from 1984-1996, the committee voted to honor them by naming the facility the Bootsma Bookstore Café at Navajo Creek. REQUESTED ANNOUCEMENTS
ALUMNI AND FRIENDS INVITED TO CPE SATURDAY
The Illinois CPA Society South Chapter will be hosting CPE Saturday on Trinity's campus on Saturday, November 10. There will be two CPE Sessions of 2 CPE credits each for a total of four hours on multiple topics and lunch. Education tracks include tax, legal, practice, strategic and ethics, which will be covered by Trinity accounting professor, Dr. Lynn Spellman White. HALF-TIME FACULTY POSITION IN ADULT STUDIES
Trinity Christian College is accepting applications for a half-time faculty position in the Adult Studies education department at the Palos Heights and Addison College of DuPage campuses. The candidate must possess five years of K-12 experience and a master's degree; Ph.D. preferred. Reading specialization and/or ESL/Bilingual endorsement or certification strengthens the application. Responsibilities include teaching courses in area of expertise and other general courses in the Adult Studies education curriculum; advising students, and participating in department meetings. SPORTS NEWS
WOMEN'S SOCCER ADVANCES TO NAIA REGIONS
The NAIA Region VII women's soccer tournament bracket has been released. Though the team lost in the conference tournament semifinal to Robert Morris College last week, the Trolls received an at-large bid and the No. 5 seed to the six-team event. In the quarterfinal round they will play No. 4 Grand View College (11-4-4) at the Cownie Complex in Des Moines, Iowa on October 30 at 7 p.m. The final rounds of the tournament will be played on Friday and Saturday in Iowa. WOMEN'S SOCCER ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM ANNOUNCED
Six members of the 2007 women's soccer team earned a place on the all-conference teams. Junior co-captains Mindi Harkema and Natalie Buikema were named first-team all-conference. In addition to the two first-team selections, forward Nicole Billin '09, defenders Chelsey Brunt '11 and Leanne Visser '09, and goalkeeper Taryne Blomgren '09 were named honorable mention.

VOLLEYBALL COMPETES IN REGION VII CHALLENGE
The Trolls finished 2-2 in their four matches of the Region VII Challenge held at St. Ambrose University (IA) last Saturday. The tournament featured cross-matches between teams of the CCAC and the MCC conferences. With the weekend's results, the Trolls remain just above .500 at 19-18 overall.

SCHURMAN EARNS PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS
Michelle Schurman '09, an outside hitter on the volleyball team, was named the Player of the Week for the week of October 15-22. Her efforts earned her player of the week status at the conference, the NAIA region, and the NCCAA national levels.

MEN'S SOCCER LOSES IN CCAC TOURNAMENT
After defeating Saint Xavier on October 19, the Trolls turned around and met them again in the first round of the CCAC tournament on October 24. This time No. 6 Trinity lost to No. 3 Saint Xavier by a score of 2-0. The Trolls are now 9-8-2 for the season.

CROSS COUNTRY COMPETES IN CCAC MEET
The cross country teams got to see how they faired against the teams in the conference in the CCAC Championships hosted by Calumet College of St. Joseph on October 20. The men's team finished in the middle of pack at fourth place of seven teams. The women only had four finishers, therefore did not earn a team place standing.
