"Praise be to the Lord, for he has heard my cry for mercy. The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song. The Lord is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one. Save your people and bless your inheritance; be their shepherd and carry them forever." Psalm 28: 6-9 NIV

Cross Country Competes at
It was a brisk day for the cross country teams as they competed in the Tiger Invitational at Olivet Nazarene University (IL) on October 14. The women's team ended the day in ninth place of the nine competing teams while only four members of the men's team competed, thus not qualifying for team standings.
Defeats Robert Morris
The Trolls are finding their stride as they picked up their fourth win in a row with a conference victory over Robert Morris College (IL) last week Tuesday. They handled the Eagles in three games, 30-20, 3-23, 30-24, to improve their records to 7-21 overall and 2-5 in the conference.
MEN'S SOCCER FINISHES REGULAR SEASON
After shutting out Robert Morris College-Springfield (IL) on October 14, the men's soccer team had high hopes going into the final week of regular season conference play. Those hopes were dashed as the Trolls lost to Illinois Institute of Technology last Tuesday and struggled in their game against Olivet Nazarene University (IL) on Saturday. The team fought hard and pushed the Tigers, but came up short as they lost the game 2-1. With a final 2-7 conference record the Trolls will not advance to the CCAC post-season tournament.
Soccer Upset in CCAC Tournament
In their final regular game of the season the Trolls defeated Illinois Institute of Technology, 2-1, on October 18. The victory gave the team a third place conference finish with a 6-3 record. In the first round of the conference tournament the No.3 seeded Trolls hosted the No. 6 seeded Olivet Nazarene University (IL). Trinity had defeated Olivet earlier in the season, but this time battled into a second overtime period before losing 1-0. This loss eliminated the Trolls from the tournament. They now await news about where they fall in other post-season play. They are 14-5 for the season.
