WORLDVIEW AT TRINITY
Welcome to your 'world with
a view' at Trinity . . . WorldView at Trinity: a community and
college series for film, word and music will be hosted on our
campus this fall and will feature presentations that
illustrate God's restorative work in the lives around us. See

The second WorldView series event will feature "God
Grew Tired of Us," a film showing on Wednesday, September 26
at 7 p.m. in the Ozinga Chapel. Come and view this
newly-released film and meet a few of the 25,000 orphaned
"Lost Boys" who fled Sudan and made a harrowing trek to a UN
refugee camp in Kenya. It tells the stories of John, Daniel
and Panther, who, along with 3,800 other young survivors, were
selected to relocate in the United States.
EARECKSON TADA COMING TO OZINGA CHAPEL
Trinity will welcome
Joni Eareckson Tada, founder and CEO of Joni and Friends, to
campus on September 28-29 for her Disability Ministry Summit,
co-hosted by the College's Church Connection Initiative and
the Alexander DeJong Center for Special Education. Church
staff, ministry leaders, workers in disability-related fields,
caregivers and persons with a disability are encouraged to
come hear keynote speakers Tada and Nick Vujicic, founder and
CEO of Life Without Limbs. For information or to register,
ON ALUMNI ATHLETES AT THE FALL ALUMNI ATHLETICS GAMES
fall alumni athletics games are spread out over several dates
this year so come out and cheer on our alumni athletes as much
as you can! The alumni softball and baseball games are on
Saturday, September 29. The day will begin with baseball
alumni taking the field at 11 a.m. and the second game will
take place after lunch. The alumni softball game will be after
the current softball team plays in the afternoon.
soccer alumni will take the field on Saturday, October 13.
Plan on spending the afternoon and evening on campus for
alumni athletics games, current student games, and a free
"Troll-gating" barbecue. The schedule for the day is: Women's
Alumni Soccer game--alumni vs. JV team, 1 p.m.; Men's Alumni
Soccer game--alumni vs. alumni, 3 p.m.; Troll-gating at the
stadium field--FREE barbecue from the alumni office, 5-7:30

WATOTO WARMS THE HEARTS OF HUNDREDS
Children's Choir, the first event scheduled as part of the new
WorldView series, attracted nearly 700 visitors to the Ozinga
Chapel on September 12. Audience members enjoyed the musical
and dance giftings of these children and also heard
testimonies of how God had rescued them from hopelessness. See

NEW CALIFORNIA LOCATION FOR ADULT
In L.A. County only 28% of the population has
earned a bachelor's degree or higher. To help meet the
educational need and to foster an existing relationship
between Trinity and Community Christian College in California,
the Adult Studies department will soon offer its

Do you know a Trinity alum who is really

making or have made significant contributions to their fields
of endeavors (which may benefit other Trinity alumni); be
recognized by their associates for outstanding achievements;
and manifest a Christian commitment that reflects honor on

or staff member who has influenced your life? In addition to
this award, the board also annually recognizes three current
and former faculty and staff members who have made an impact
on Trinity alumni with the Honorary Alumni Award. In the past,

NEW BY-LAWS ONLINE
The Alumni Board of Directors
has rewritten the by-laws for the Alumni Association. Those
new by-laws, to be approved by the Alumni Association on

ASSOCIATE DEAN OF EDUCATION
Trinity is seeking
an associate dean of education. The ideal candidate will
possess a Ph.D. and teaching experience in K-12.
Administrative experience and/or higher education experience
is desired. Responsibilities will include: serving as the unit
head for the teacher education program; coordinating and
leading department accreditation actions; serving as chair of
the educational/special education department; teaching courses

VOLLEYBALL SPLITS RESULTS IN TOURNAMENT
volleyball team had their ups and downs in the University of
Chicago Gargoyle Classic. On Friday they won their two
matches, defeating Defiance College (MI) and the University of
Chicago. They could not repeat those performances on Saturday
and lost to Mount Union College (OH) and Augsburg College
(MN). The team is now 6-8 for the season. They play Cardinal
Stritch University at home tonight at 7:30 p.m.
BREAKS SCHOOL RECORD
In only the second meet of the season,
junior Andy Jellema sets the school record over an 8K cross
country course. Jellema posted a time of 26:05.36 at the Ted
Hedstrand Invitational hosted by North Park University on
CROSS COUNTRY BREAKS SCHOOL
The cross country teams had a good day at the
Illinois Intercollegiate Invitational hosted by Illinois State
University. Both the top runners for the men's and women's
team unofficially broke school records and a number of other
athletes performed their personal bests. They host the Troll
Invitational this weekend, September 21-22.
EARNS PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS
Men's soccer player Wale
Akintunde was named the Defensive Player of the Week on
September 11 for the conference and the NAIA region. During
the week of September 2-8 the Trolls posted two victories, a
2-1 overtime win against William Penn University (IA) and a
2-0 shutout against Ashford University (IA). The Trolls'
defensive unit was solid, allowing only one goal for the week.
In both games they had to hold off the pressure of the
opponent's attack to maintain their lead. Akintunde was a
large part of that defensive stand, providing leadership and
MEN'S SOCCER SHUTS OUT MOODY
The Trolls improved their record to 5-4 with a
decisive victory over Moody Bible Institute (IL) yesterday.
The team scored three in the first half and then added another
two in the second half to post the 5-0 shut out victory. Their
next game is at Olivet Nazarene University this Saturday at 4
WOMEN'S SOCCER DENIES BETHEL
For the fifth
straight game the Trolls have denied their opponents a goal.
The latest conquest was a 2-0 victory over Bethel College
(IN). The win extends the team's winning streak to six and
gives them a 7-1 overall record. They play at home tomorrow
night against St. Xavier University at 7 p.m.
