"This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin." 1 John 1:5-7

ALUMNI NEWS
ALUMNI BOARD TAKING NOMINATIONS FOR ANNUAL AWARDS
Do you know a Trinity alum who is really making a difference in the world? The alumni board wants your input for the 2007 Alumnus/a of the Year. Nominees should be making or have made significant contributions to their fields of endeavors (which may benefit other Trinity alumni); be recognized by their associates for outstanding achievements; and manifest a Christian commitment that reflects honor on Trinity Christian College.

Is there a Trinity faculty or staff member who has influenced your life? In addition to this award, the board also annually recognizes three current and former faculty and staff members who have made an impact on Trinity alumni with the Honorary Alumni Award. In the past, the alumni board has nominated the award recipients, but this year they are requesting nominations from the alumni association.

Nominations for both awards should be submitted before Friday, October 19. Forward the names and reasons why you believe your nominees meet the criteria to travis.bandstra@trnty.edu .

LAST CHANCE! ALUMNI CLASSNOTES--SEND US YOUR PHOTOS!
In addition to requesting your Alumni Classnotes for the fall TRINITY magazine, we also need great alumni photographs. Living in an area far from Trinity? Send us a picture of you in your Trinity-wear with your city's famous landmark. Or maybe your former South Hall suitemates had a reunion and took a few group photos--send them over! Graduate school grads, send us your favorite commencement snapshot; teachers, share your current class with us; newlyweds, show us your wedding photos. Include a short description about what you're doing in the photo, and what you're up to, and we'd love to feature it in the upcoming magazine (space permitting). SPORTS NEWS
VOLLEYBALL SPLITS RESULTS IN TOURNAMENT
The volleyball team had their ups and downs in the University of Chicago Gargoyle Classic. On Friday they won their two matches, defeating Defiance College (MI) and the University of Chicago. They could not repeat those performances on Saturday and lost to Mount Union College (OH) and Augsburg College (MN). The team is now 6-8 for the season. They play Cardinal Stritch University at home tonight at 7:30 p.m.

JELLEMA BREAKS SCHOOL RECORD
In only the second meet of the season, junior Andy Jellema sets the school record over an 8K cross country course. Jellema posted a time of 26:05.36 at the Ted Hedstrand Invitational hosted by North Park University on September 8.

CROSS COUNTRY BREAKS SCHOOL RECORDS
The cross country teams had a good day at the Illinois Intercollegiate Invitational hosted by Illinois State University. Both the top runners for the men's and women's team unofficially broke school records and a number of other athletes performed their personal bests. They host the Troll Invitational this weekend, September 21-22.

AKINTUNDE EARNS PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS
Men's soccer player Wale Akintunde was named the Defensive Player of the Week on September 11 for the conference and the NAIA region. During the week of September 2-8 the Trolls posted two victories, a 2-1 overtime win against William Penn University (IA) and a 2-0 shutout against Ashford University (IA). The Trolls' defensive unit was solid, allowing only one goal for the week. In both games they had to hold off the pressure of the opponent's attack to maintain their lead. Akintunde was a large part of that defensive stand, providing leadership and aggressive play.

MEN'S SOCCER SHUTS OUT MOODY BIBLE
The Trolls improved their record to 5-4 with a decisive victory over Moody Bible Institute (IL) yesterday. The team scored three in the first half and then added another two in the second half to post the 5-0 shut out victory. Their next game is at Olivet Nazarene University this Saturday at 4 p.m.

WOMEN'S SOCCER DENIES BETHEL
For the fifth straight game the Trolls have denied their opponents a goal. The latest conquest was a 2-0 victory over Bethel College (IN). The win extends the team's winning streak to six and gives them a 7-1 overall record. They play at home tomorrow night against St. Xavier University at 7 p.m.
