September 12, 2006

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified." Romans 8:28-30 NIV

Women's Soccer MAINTAINS Perfect Record

After defeating Viterbo University (WI) 2-1 in their first road trip of the season on September 2, the women's soccer team traveled to Indiana last Saturday. At Taylor University (IN) the Trolls took a comfortable half-time lead and stretched it to a 6-0 win in the second half. The team, who had 30 shots for the game, scored two goals in the first half and poured in four more in the second. They held Taylor to just six shots for the game and denied them a score. The team is now 4-0 for the season.

Men's Soccer Suffers First Losses of the Season

While the men's soccer team looked strong against Viterbo University (WI) on September 2, the team's perfect 4-0 record came to an end this past weekend in a tournament at Marian College (IN). On Friday the Trolls first loss of the season was handed to them by Urbana University (OH) in a 5-1 game. The team faced Marian on Saturday and the game went in to the double overtime period before the Trolls lost 3-2. The team is now 4-2 for the season.

Cross Country Opens Season

The Trolls were led by newcomers to the program in their first meet of the 2006 cross country season on September 1. Freshman Jennifer TenKate was the led Trinity female runner at 13:29.00 (65th place) in the 3200 meter event.

Volleyball Takes One of Four Matches in Tourney

After losing their first home game on September 5 against the University of St. Francis (IL), the womens' volleyball team traveled to Indiana Wesleyan University over the weekend for tournament play. The Trolls went 1-3 in their match play. They started the tournament with an exciting five-game match win over Siena Heights University (MI). That was the only win they managed as they dropped matches to Indiana Wesleyan, Spring Arbor University (MI), and to Mt. Vernon Nazarene University (OH). The team is now 2-7 for the season.
