ALUMNA BRINGS ARMAND DOCUMENTARY TO TRINITY

Beauty Is Truth Productions and director and producer Jennifer Dornbush ’93 announce the Chicago premiere of their feature documentary, Armand, scheduled for 7:30 p.m., Thursday, September 15, in the Ozinga Chapel. FALL ALUMNI WEEKEND PLANNED FOR SEPTEMBER

It’s time for the Trinity Christian College fall alumni weekend! Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 24, and come to campus for alumni athletics games in three different sports and a free “Troll-gating” barbecue. Everyone is invited; bring your family and friends to come out and cheer on the Trolls.

TRINITY HOSTS TWO FALL CCM CONCERTS

Starting to make your plans for the fall? It’s concert time at Trinity. On Saturday, October 1, at 7:30 p.m., catch Petra during their farewell tour. “The Collision Tour” featuring the David Crowder Band, Shane and Shane, and the Robbie Seay Band also will make a stop at the Ozinga Chapel on Friday, November 11, at 7:30 p.m. Advance tickets for both concerts are $19.50 each and $25 at the door. TRINITY HELPS HIGH SCHOOLERS GET READY FOR COLLEGE

A summer program sponsored by the Associated Colleges of Illinois brought two groups of Chicago-area high school students to Trinity to provide a glimpse of what they can expect during their college years. The ACI’s College Readiness Program brought high school freshmen and sophomores to Palos Heights July 24 for four days of classroom instruction, social development, and career planning. WORLDWIDE MEDICAL MISSIONARIES CONVENE AT TRINITY

A collection of more than 20 nations were united in their efforts to encourage each other’s outreach ministry during the Luke Society’s Directors Conference July 31 through August 4. The Luke Society is an interdenominational organization of Christian health and business professionals dedicated to medical missions. Administrators and medical personnel from five countries on five continents came to Trinity for the conference, which is held every five years. ALUMNI BOARD TAKING NOMINATIONS FOR ALUMNUS OF THE YEAR

Do you know a Trinity alum who is really making a difference in the world? The alumni board soon will select its Alumnus of the Year 2006 and needs your suggestions. The award recipient is chosen by looking at the following criteria: has made a significant contribution to his/her fields of endeavor (“significant contribution” could be outstanding contributions for the benefit of Trinity alumni); recognized by his/her associates for outstanding achievements; and manifest a Christian commitment that reflects honor upon Trinity Christian College. Nominations should be received before Friday, October 21. If you would like to submit a nomination to the alumni board, please forward the name and reasons why you feel this alum fits the criteria to Travis Bandstra at travis.bandstra@trnty.edu .

 

MISCELLANEOUS NEWS

PHONATHON CALLERS TAKE THEIR SEATS

As the students return to campus in the next week, this year’s Phonathon also will begin. Student callers will start contacting alumni and friends of the College on Wednesday, September 7. TRINITY INTRODUCES SALT

Trinity will launch a new program called the Senior Academy of Learning at Trinity. Two sessions will be offered on three Thursday afternoons beginning in mid-October, with two more sessions planned for spring 2006. These are non-credit courses for individuals who are interested in learning, engaging in discussion, and expanding their horizons. More information will be available next month.

 

JOB OPENINGS

Trinity Christian College is seeking a full-time public relations coordinator to serve as a member of the marketing and communications staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: public relations planning; media relations; and writing copy for news releases, feature magazine articles, quarterly newsletters, the Web site, and other publications as directed. The coordinator will assist in crisis communications planning and execution. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, or related field. Two or more years experience in journalism, corporate communications, or public relations preferred. Candidates must demonstrate excellent writing and editing skills, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects on deadline. Experience in digital photography desired; experience working with graphic designers helpful. A sincere commitment to the mission of the College and the ability to articulate a Reformed worldview is necessary.
