There are still a few spots open for the 20th annual TAC Golf Classic next Monday, August 15. Held at Calumet Country Club in Homewood, Illinois, for the second consecutive year, the event will begin with registration at 11 a.m., luncheon and auction at 11:30 a.m., and a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The outing will conclude with hors d'oeuvres and an awards ceremony in the clubhouse. It’s time for the Trinity Christian College fall alumni weekend! Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 24 and come to campus for alumni athletics games from three different sports and a free “Troll-gating” barbecue. Everyone is invited; bring your family and friends to come out and cheer on the Trolls.

Starting to make your plans for the fall? It’s concert time at Trinity. On Saturday, October 1, at 7:30 p.m., catch Petra during their farewell tour; tickets are $19.50 in advance and $25 at the door. “The Collision Tour” featuring the David Crowder Band, Shane and Shane, and the Robbie Seay Band will make a stop at the Ozinga Chapel on Friday, November 11, at 7:30 p.m. Advance tickets are $18.50 each and $25 at the door. friends sponsor Benefit for KIM JAGER ’03

While struggling with brain cancer since last fall, Kim Jager ’03 has continued to teach at Blue Cap Instructional Center in Blue Island, Illinois, and has attempted to lead a normal life. Her friends at Blue Cap have set up a fund to help with her medical expenses and they are holding a fund-raiser this Saturday, August 13 at 115 Bourbon Street from 2-7 p.m. Benefit tickets can be purchased at the door for $25 and entry includes hors d’oeuvres, sandwiches, and beverages. Those who wish to support Kim can make checks payable to the Kim Jager Benefit Fund.

Do you know a Trinity alum who is really making a difference in the world? The alumni board soon will select its Alumnus of the Year 2006 and needs your suggestions. The award recipient is chosen by looking at the following criteria: have made a significant contribution to their fields of endeavor (“significant contribution” could be outstanding contributions for the benefit of Trinity alumni); recognized by their associates for outstanding achievements; and manifest a Christian commitment that reflects honor upon Trinity Christian College. Nominations should be received before Friday, October 21. If you would like to submit a nomination to the alumni board, please forward the name and reasons why you feel this alum fits the criteria to Travis Bandstra at .



Trinity Christian College is seeking a full-time public relations coordinator to serve as a member of the marketing and communications staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: public relations planning; media relations; and writing copy for news releases, feature magazine articles, quarterly newsletters, the Web site, and other publications as directed. The coordinator will assist in crisis communications planning and execution. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, or related field. Two or more years experience in journalism, corporate communications, or public relations preferred. Candidates must demonstrate excellent writing and editing skills, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects on deadline. Experience in digital photography desired; experience working with graphic designers helpful. A sincere commitment to the mission of the College and the ability to articulate a Reformed worldview is necessary.
