TRINITY NIGHT IN MILLENNIUM PARK
Don't forget! Tomorrow night, June 18, all alumni and friends are invited to join Trinity at Millennium Park in Chicago at 6:30 p.m. for a free evening of classical music at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion. The Grant Park Orchestra will perform works by Mozart, Wagner, and others. Trinity representatives will be in the southwest corner of the Pavilion area; come and say hello for your free Trinity water bottle. SUMMER AT THE BOOTSMA BOOKSTORE CAFE
June 18--Come to the Bootsma Bookstore Cafe at 6513 W. 123rd St. (east side of campus of Trinity Christian College, Palos Heights, Illinois) for Story Hour. Expand your child's imagination through story and craft time from 10-11 a.m.; for children ages 4-7. Summer hours at the Bootsma Bookstore Cafe are in effect until August 22; rental space is available during that time. TRINITY HOSTS SEA TO SEA BIKE TOUR
On Tuesday night, August 12, approximately 200 Sea to Sea Bike Tour cyclists will be at Trinity Christian College, Palos Heights, IL. This is the only Chicago area stop on the tour. You are invited to a Meet the Cyclists reception from 7-7:30 p.m. in the Grand Lobby of Ozinga Chapel. From 7:45-8:45 p.m. attend a Film Festival with films based on the theme of poverty--two of which highlight poverty in Chicago. There will be opportunity for a free-will offering with monies given to the causes supported by the Sea to Sea: Ending the Cycle of Poverty Bike Tour. LAW, JUSTICE AND CULTURE INSTITUTE INSPIRES STUDENTS
The Law, Justice and Culture Institute, held May 19-30, provided worldview training in the Judeo-Christian tradition to Trinity students and students from participating colleges. The purpose of the annual gathering, which is sponsored by the Center for Law and Culture at Trinity, is to inspire students to serve God faithfully in public life, particularly in the strategic fields of law, government, and politics. REQUEST FOR ALUMNI SUBMISSIONS TO LITERARY ARTS JOURNAL
Marissa De Haan, junior English student, is compiling a literary arts journal for Trinity and she would like to open a portion to alumni submissions. If you have poems, short stories, opinion essays, or art (may be any medium, as long as it is a photograph of the piece), please send them via e-mail attachment to: marissa.dehaan@trnty.edu. REQUESTING YOUR STORIES--CELEBRATE THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY
Dr. Dan Diephouse is editing a book to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Trinity's founding in 1959. He would like to include some personal stories from alumni from various years recounting memories of their time on campus. Here are some topics to prompt your memories: stories about special classes, student pranks, the Troll, interim experiences, the philosophy wars, experiences with students or with professors, concerts, lectures, fund raisers, athletic events, OPUS, Fine Arts Festivals, chapels, drama, dorm life, apartment life, overseas programs, Chicago experiences, Palos Heights experiences, Trinity building experiences, times before Trinity computers and even telephones were available to every student and every faculty member. The adult studies department is offering an accelerated English as a Second Language/Bilingual (ESL/BL) program for certified teachers looking to achieve their ESL/BL endorsement or approval in one year. LOOK AT TRINITY FOR SUMMER CAMPS FOR YOUR KIDS
Trinity Christian College will once again offer a variety of creative and sports camps this summer--for a variety of ages (K-12). Children can learn how to create practical art, sharpen their acting and singing skills, improve athletic abilities, or explore a new hobby.
