CAMPUS NEWS
SACRED SPACES
About two dozen red cushions sat conspicuously in various locations across the Trinity campus, punctuating a gray landscape as spring labored to draw its own color over winter. Read more on Trinity's Web site at: tcc.trnty.edu/new/archive/051407/

AREA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS CELEBRATE READING AND WRITING
Trinity's education department welcomed children's author Candace Fleming and more than 200 students from local grade schools to campus for the annual Young Authors Festival on May 1. See the rest of the story on our Web site at: tcc.trnty.edu/new/archive/050807/

A CHANCE TO SHINE, A MOMENT TO SHARE
A creative work--that is one definition of an "opus." On April 24 Trinity students colorfully illustrated the meaning of this word at OPUS 2007, the College's annual celebration of student scholarship. For more, see our Web site at: tcc.trnty.edu/new/archive/050707a/

TRINITY STUDENTS ARE "DISPLACED"
More than 30 Trinity students--more than 4,600 people in Chicago--more than 65,000 across the United States were "displaced" on April 28. These people gathered in 15 simulated refugee camps across the country to raise awareness of the thousands of Northern Ugandan children who have fled their homes every night to escape abduction by members of the Lord's Resistance Army, which subjects them to torture and sexual violence and forces them to fight in the LRA's guerilla army. Check our Web site at tcc.trnty.edu/new/archive/050307d/ for more information.

THE VANDERHOFS KNOW YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU
The sounds of firecrackers, political commentary, furious typing and most of all uproarious audience laughter filled the Fireside Room as this year's spring play delighted one sold-out crowd after the next. See photos and the rest of the story on our Web site at: tcc.trnty.edu/new/archive/050307c/

FINDING A SACRED RHYTHM
For many Christians, the most regimented prayer time comes before a meal or at church on Sunday morning. While more liturgical denominations may adhere to a structured daily prayer ritual, this is less common among non-denominational groups, who generally participate in fewer scripted forms of prayer and worship.
