RICH DEVOS TO SPEAK AT TRINITY BUSINESS NETWORK EVENT
Rich DeVos, co-founder of Amway, will speak at a special Trinity Business Network event scheduled for Thursday, May 22, in the Ozinga Chapel Grand Lobby at Trinity Christian College. A welcome reception will be held from 4:30 to 5 p.m.; the presentation will be held from 5 to 5:45 p.m. The renowned business leader and speaker has written three books, including "Hope from My Heart: Ten Lessons for Life," which reflects his feelings after successfully undergoing a heart transplant operation in 1997. "NATIONAL" EXCITEMENT FOR ANNUAL ALUMNI GOLF OUTING
Take out your clubs and start swinging--the annual alumni golf outing will be held on Saturday, June 7 at George Dunne National in Oak Forest, Illinois. TRINITY NIGHT IN MILLENNIUM PARK
All alumni and friends are invited to join Trinity at Millennium Park in Chicago on Wednesday, June 18 at 6:30 p.m. for a free evening of classical music at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion. The Grant Park Orchestra will perform works by Mozart, Wagner, and others. Trinity will have a table in the southwest corner of the Pavilion area; come and visit the table for your free Trinity water bottle. EDUCATION PROGRAM MEETS STATE'S ACCREDITATION STANDARDS
In early March, the education department hosted an accreditation visit from the Illinois State Board of Education. Trinity is pleased to convey that the College met all six of the standards for continuing accreditation, and the visit team left with many positive comments about the education program. The recommendation for continuing accreditation will go to the State Certification Board and will receive a final vote of the State Board of Education in late 2008 or early 2009. Dr. Dan Diephouse is editing a book to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Trinity's founding in 1959. He would like to include some personal stories from alumni from various years recounting memories of their time on campus. Here are some topics to prompt your memories: stories about special classes, student pranks, the Troll, interim experiences, the philosophy wars, experiences with students or with professors, concerts, lectures, fund raisers, athletic events, OPUS, Fine Arts Festivals, chapels, drama, dorm life, apartment life, overseas programs, Chicago experiences, Palos Heights experiences, Trinity building experiences, times before Trinity computers and even telephones were available to every student and every faculty member. All alumni are invited to join in honoring retiring faculty members Virginia LaGrand and Burton Rozema at two separate open house events. Retirement celebrations: for Burton Rozema, Professor of Classics & Academic Dean, Friday, May 9, 3:30-5 p.m., Fireside Room of the Administration Building; for Virginia La Grand, Associate Professor of English, Friday, May 9, 7:30-9 p.m., Fireside Room of the Administration Building. If you would like to honor these faculty members, but cannot attend these events, you can also contribute to the scholarship funds that have been established in the name of each of the retiree. ALUMNI: DIRECTOR OF ALUMNI RELATIONS
Trinity Christian College is seeking a full-time director of alumni relations. The successful candidate must have extensive event planning and event implementation skills, experience in strategic planning and goal setting, must be able to establish and maintain contact with alumni through AFT (Alumni and Friends of Trinity) chapter work, affinity groups and class reunions, and must have experience in recruiting and training volunteers to serve on boards. The successful candidate must also be able to demonstrate a high level of organizational skills and experience in writing for newsletters and other publications. Trinity Christian College seeks candidates that have a personal faith and commitment to Jesus Christ, and a sincere allegiance to the mission of the college. A Bachelor's degree is preferred and preference will be given to alumni of Trinity Christian College.

SPORTS NEWS
TRACK AND FIELD COMPETES AT NCCAA NATIONALS
The track and field team had the best overall team performance in the program's history at the NCCAA National Championships held at Indiana Wesleyan University (IN) on May 3. Overall the team placed in 13 events with the women scoring 36 points for a 7th place finish and the men taking 11th place with eight points.

BASEBALL LOSES TWO IN CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT
The Trolls could not extend their season as they were eliminated from the conference tournament with two losses on May 1. The team lost the first game, 5-8, to Purdue University-North Central and then dropped a 1-3 decision to Olivet Nazarene University. Trinity ended the season with a 14-20 overall record.

SOFTBALL ENDS SEASON WITH LOSSES
The Trolls did not get the ending to their season that they wanted as they were shutout, 0-11 and 0-15, of both games of a double-header against Saint Xavier University on April 26. The team ended their season with a final overall record of 6-23 and a conference record of 4-14.
