Alumni Networking Lunch - SW Suburbs: May 18
Join fellow alums for an informal lunch and the chance to connect and network with fellow alums in the Southwest Suburbs. This is also a chance to reconnect with Professors Mary Lynn Colosimo & Lynn White who will join the group. The cost is $5 and location is Limestone Grill in Palos Heights.

 

Open Auditions for Alumni Theatre
The audition dates for the 2nd Summer Trinity Alumni Theatre production will be held Thursday May 13 from 7 to 9 p.m. Interested alumni should contact Professor John Sebestyen at john.sebestyen@trnty.edu and/or 708.239.4714. The production is Agatha Christies THE MOUSETRAP, and performance dates are August 26-28 & Sept. 11, 2010.  Rehearsals will begin in July and occur approximately twice a week.

 

Alumni Golf Outing: June 26
The Alumni Golf Outing returns for 2010, but with a new date and course location. Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 26 at Carriage Greens Country Club in Darien, IL. This year, a lunch has also been added but the cost per golfer remains at $95. Start recruiting your foursome today!

Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart Speaks at Trinity
Speaking to Trinity students, faculty, and community members, Dart discussed three current issues in law enforcement-home evictions, Internet prostitution, and Burr Oak Cemetery-and how he, as a sheriff and Christian, is handling each issue.

 

Living Intentionally During Spring Break
During spring break, six students traveled to Americus, Georgia, where they spent a week at Koinonia Farm, a Christian farm community founded in 1942 that since its beginnings has challenged racism, militarism, and materialism.

 

Spring Break Trip Fixes Homes and Hearts
The spring break service trip, which took place March 15-19 in Dungannon, Virginia, allowed Trinity students to repair homes and repair their personal lives.

 

Student Teaching Lands Job in Indonesia
Trinity senior Leanne Koetje of Grand Rapids, Michigan, will be moving to Indonesia after graduation to take a full-time teaching position.

 

Fine Arts Students Team Up With Area High School
Trinity students in the Fine Arts in Education course re-created Shakespeare in new and unique ways as they teamed up with honors freshmen English students from Chicagos Kelly High School and performed on April 15.

 

Chicago Area Students Receive GCCL Scholarship
Three area high school students have been awarded Trinitys Greater Chicago Christian Leadership Scholarship: Rochelle Burks of Downers Grove; Andrea Walters of Bolingbrook; and Erica-Symone Windham of Robbins.

 

Dr. Nelvia Brady Announces Retirement
Professor of business and former director of ethnic diversity,Dr. Nelvia Brady is looking back on a lifelong career in education as she prepares to retire from Trinity.

 

Professor of Education Named Fulbright Scholar
Dr. Patti Powell has been asked to teach at Sam Sharpe Teachers' College in Montego Bay, Jamaica. From January through May 2011, Powell will assist with the development of the college's new deaf education program.

 

Student Wins Inspirational Athlete of the Year Award
Maribel Melendez-Napoles was born with quadriplegic cerebral palsy yet she did not let that stop her from  pursuing her athletic abilities including basketball, yoga, archery, and racing.

TBN: Banking

Online Theology Course

Trinity is offering an online course, "Reformed Confessions and Worldview," taught by Calvin Theological Seminary Professor Dr. Mary Vanden Berg. The course begins with an in-person, on-campus meeting on Friday, May 14, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and then meets online June 1-30. New Women's Basketball Coach Hired
Trinity announces the hiring of LaToshia Burrell as its next women's basketball coach. Burrell will take over for Liz Metcalfe, who stepped down after five years at the helm of the program.

 

Baseball Nears End of Season
The Trolls avenged their earlier losses to Trinity International University with a 7-6 victory in a home conference game.

 

Softball Completes Regular Season
Trinity hosted Saint Xavier University in the final games of the conference schedule and the Trolls' regular season.
