Trinity Receives Recognition for Stewardship Initiatives
Trinity has been recognized for taking several steps toward becoming an even better environmental steward while providing opportunities for student involvement and education.


Trinity Hosts High School Filmmakers
An integral part of Trinity's Chicago Semester is the experiential learning students gain through internships. Derek Harris '10 of Mokena, Illinois, took this opportunity a step further to benefit Chicago high school students being served by Erie Neighborhood House where Harris is currently interning.


Student Artwork on Display in Psychology Department
The psychology department is honoring the artistic abilities of Chelsea Keane by displaying her painting, titled Something Fundamental, in the psychology department located in Vander Velde Hall.


Joanna in Nicaragua: January and February Journal
Trinity students have the life-changing opportunity to study abroad through the College's semester in Nicaragua. Joanna Dykstra '11 of Hammond, Indiana, is studying in Nicaragua this semester. Follow her each month on her study abroad adventure.


Student Teaching in Africa at School for the Blind
"Only God can tell you why he put Africa on my heart," said Maddy Manden '10 a special education/elementary education major who is completing her student teaching in Ghana, "but since I was 11, I told everyone that I was going to help the children in Africa."


Trinity Hosts the 2nd Diephouse Graduate Conference
This Conference gave many Trinity students the opportunity to engage with current graduate students, as well as receive feedback on their own writings. The conference was held the weekend of February 19 and 20.


Student Work Chosen for "Best College Photography 2010" The work of five students in the beginning and intermediate photography classes has been selected out of the nearly 14,000 entries to be published in this year's edition of Best of College Photography 2010.  


Traveling Hands Performs at Disability Awareness Event
Trinity's Student Council for Exceptional Children planned a Disability Awareness Week in March. Part of this week included inviting deaf and hard of hearing students and their teachers from Nathan Hale Elementary School to watch and interact with the Traveling Hands Troupe.  

Brassfest Mar. 30  

Join us for Brass Fest, an all-brass concert featuring student ensembles and numbers by instrumental director Kenneth Austin. The Trinity Brass Quintet will be playing several selections from West Side Story, as well as pieces by W.A. Mozart and Leonard Bernstein. Plan to join us at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 30, in the Van Namen Recital Hall of the Ozinga Chapel for this free concert. For more information, call the Trinity music department at 708.239.4874.

Spring Play
April 16-24

Trinity's theatre department will present Oliver Goldsmith's laugh-out-loud comedy She Stoops to Conquer on April 16, 17, 22, 23 and 24 at 7:30 p.m. in the Marg Kallemeyn Theatre in the Art and Communication Center. An opening night dinner will be held prior to the performance on Friday, April 16, and a post-show discussion will follow the April 23 performance. Play ticket prices are $10 for general admission; $7 for students and senior citizens. Tickets for the Opening Night Dinner Theatre at 5:30 p.m. on April 16 are $40 for general admission and $37 for students and senior citizens. Prices include dinner and a ticket to the show. Trolls Earn Post-Season Basketball Honors
Senior Will Bruinsma and sophomore Matt Buren represented the Trolls in the post-season honors. In addition, junior Josh Flikkema and sophomore Jamie King earned all-conference honorable mention status.


Women's Post-Season Honors Announced
A pair of Trinity athletes was recognized as the post-season basketball honors were doled out. Christine Iwema earned CCAC All-Conference honors while Tiffany Deckinga was given honorable mention.


Baseball Opens Season at Harris-Stowe
The 2010 baseball season got underway with four games at Harris Stowe State University.


Final Indoor Performances
The track and field teams completed their indoor schedule at the Carthage Last Chance Invitational. The Trolls had one final opportunity to better their indoor performances and came away with two school records.



Basketball Season Ends at Judson
The No. 3 Trolls were defeated by No. 2 Judson University in a semifinal game of the conference tournament. The loss ends the season for the team and gives them a 12-18 final record.
