PRAISE TEAM TOURS OVER INTERIM
Check to see if Trinity's Praise Team will be touring in your area in January. The group departed from Trinity on January 8 and will continue on to visit five states and Canada, returning January 22. INTERIM POSTS RECORD ATTENDANCE - UPDATES

ACTING ON AIDS: STUDENT LEADERSHIP SUMMIT
Students from Christian colleges and universities around the world are taking seriously God's call to care for those in need by acting on the largest humanitarian crisis of our time-the global AIDS pandemic. They have joined their peers in a program, supported by World Vision, called Acting on AIDS (AoA) to turn the tide against this crisis. Trinity Christian College is pleased to host the 2007 Acting on AIDS Student Leadership Summit, which will be held on Trinity's campus on February 15 - 18. TERPSTRA HONORED FOR NON-FICTION WORK
A story about his wife's siblings garnered a literary award for John Terpstra ex'74 from Hamilton, Ontario. The Boys, or, Waiting for the Electrician's Daughter was named winner of the Athens Printing Award for Best Non-Fiction Book. The award is given annually to celebrate Hamilton's literary achievements and sponsored by local businesses and organizations. THE FACES OF POVERTY
On Thursday, February 8, the social work department will be hosting an event titled "Faces of Poverty: A Discussion with Diane Doherty and Ed Shurna." Doherty is executive director of the Illinois Hunger Coalition. Shurna is executive director of the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless. 2007 ALUMNI AWARDS
Four men of distinction are recipients of the 2007 alumni awards. John Kooyenga '66 of Tinley Park, Illinois is Alumnus of the Year. The 2007 Honorary Alumni Award recipients are Dr. Robert Rice, Dr. Kenneth Bootsma, and Martin Ozinga III. The alumni award recipients will be honored at the annual Presidential Alumni Dinner on Friday, February 2, during Homecoming weekend. SPORTS NEWS
BILL SCHEPEL NAMED VOLLEYBALL COACH
Bill Schepel has been named the women's volleyball coach at Trinity Christian College. Schepel, who has built an impressive resume as a high school coach and teacher over the past 22 years, will also serve as an assistant professor in the physical education department.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL STUMBLES AGAINST IU-SOUTH BEND
On January 6, the Trolls could not repeat the performance that produced a win in late November against Indiana University-South Bend. This time around the team faltered in the second half against the Lady Titans and suffered a 58-82 loss. The loss gives the Trolls a 6-13 overall record.

MEN'S BASKETBALL GRABS VICTORY OVER IU-NORTHWEST
The Trolls started 2007 off on the right foot on January 4 as they added a game to the win column. In just their fourth home contest of the season they took care of Indiana University-Northwest, 96-77. The victory improves their record to 5-10 overall.
